Wholesale orders usually ship in 2 to 3 business days to all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Maybe you run a neighborhood market, a gift shop, a farm stand, a co-op or a regional grocery chain. Whatever your size, adding an artisan pasta should be simple. We’ve written this guide so you know exactly what to expect, from your request to the day the pasta hits your shelf.
What wholesale means at Intermountain Pasta
Wholesale means approved accounts buy our own finished pasta, already bagged under our brands, and resell it in their stores. Our wholesale brands are Plentiful Pantry® and Zpasta®.
It’s the fastest way to get artisan pasta on your shelf. There’s no tag to design and no production run to plan. Just pick what you want to carry. Wholesale is for approved accounts only.
Wholesale vs. private label vs. custom manufacturing
| Wholesale | Private label | Custom manufacturing | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whose brand? | Ours | Yours | Yours |
| Packaging | Our bags, our brands | Our bags, your tag | Your packaging, or ours |
| Ingredients | Our recipes | Our recipes | Your ingredients or recipe |
| Production run | Not needed | Yes, see our minimum | Yes, see our minimum |
| Shipping | Usually 2 to 3 business days | Most orders ship in 4 to 6 weeks | Most orders ship in 4 to 6 weeks |
For private label and custom manufacturing, our minimum is between 700 and 1,200 lbs, depending on the cut and how much it takes to fill a dry room. Filling the whole room is how the pasta dries evenly and gets the flavor and texture you love in artisan pasta. If you’re thinking about your own brand, read how to start a private label pasta brand.

What to stock: a starter assortment
Here’s a simple way to build a pasta set that sells:
- Everyday shapes: a few versatile short and long cuts your regulars will reach for every week.
- Something colorful: pasta colored and flavored with real food ingredients like spinach, beet root or butternut squash.
- Something fun: a seasonal or novelty shape, like Dinosaur, Holiday Pasta or Hippity Hop. Our seasonal pasta shapes guide lists them all, and they’re available all year.
Want einkorn on your shelf?
Our organic einkorn pasta is sold wholesale through Grand Teton Ancient Grains, the farm and mill our same family, brothers Jade and Jaxon Koyle, also runs. It’s an ancient grain that few stores carry. See what is einkorn pasta? to learn more.
Why our pasta sells in specialty and grocery stores
It’s made the traditional Italian way
Every batch is bronze-cut and slow-dried. Shoppers can see the matte, rough texture through the bag, and they can taste the difference when sauce clings to the pasta.
It’s clean and simple
We use clean ingredients and always real food. Our traditional pasta is made from un-enriched durum wheat semolina, and our colors and flavors come from real food ingredients.
It has a real story
Jade and Jaxon Koyle run both Intermountain Pasta and Grand Teton Ancient Grains, their family farm and mill in Teton, Idaho. They bought our Salt Lake City pasta kitchen a few years ago to offer einkorn pasta, and they kept its time-tested recipes and dedicated team. Shoppers love buying from real people.
It’s certified
We’re GMP certified, a certified organic handler and Scroll K kosher certified.
Tips for selling artisan pasta in your store
- Shelve it with premium products.
- Use shelf talkers that say what’s special: “Bronze-cut and slow-dried in Salt Lake City.”
- Cross-merchandise with olive oil, sauces, cheese and bread.
- Build seasonal displays with novelty shapes near the register.
- Sample it. A small cooked sample with good olive oil sells pasta better than any sign.
- Tell the family story. A farm family that also runs a pasta kitchen is a conversation starter.
Planning for the holidays
Holiday Pasta, Winter Pasta and Christmas Linguine are favorites for winter sets. Because wholesale usually ships in 2 to 3 business days, it’s easy to restock a holiday display that’s selling well.
